VTT: Pyrex Dinnerware

I found out this morning that information on this line is pretty scarce. In the book Pyrex the unauthorized Collector's guide by Barbara E. Mauzy it is written that the dinnerware line was introduced after the second world war and that much of it has survived finding it's way to the antique marketplace; well not in Quebec honey!
Here finding Pyrex dinnerware in good condition is like finding a gold bullion in cow dung (how's that for a mental picture?).

The original colors were Dove Grey,Turquoise,Lime and Flamingo (pictured here) Years later they added 2 new colors Regency Green and Royal Burgundy, Rengency Green being the harder color to find.



I was lucky to find these pieces on eBay last year for a very,very reasonnable price and the shipping was cheap too. I just scored some saucers last month. Bit by bit,piece by piece one day I might have a complete set...Who knows?



For the time being I'm happy to have found a cream and sugar set with the lid...nearly mint!

    I love the Pyrex dinnerware (well of course I do) I don't have any myself but I will keep an eye out for you. We Pyrex gals have to stick together! Do you just want the Flamingo color? Which if I collected this would be my color also! Thanks for your visit and nice comments.

    Thats a very pretty "pattern". I love the simplicity and the color. I think I may have seen the gray before, perhaps a family member had it, not sure.

    Hmmm...now you've got me thinking. I have some sherbets that I thought were milk glass, with a red band. Maybe they are actually pyrex? I bought them at a shop in PA. Here's the link to the photo I used them in:

    Oh flamingo colour is lovely. My mom has a four place setting of these. It was a wedding present she got married in 1955. To date, those pretty dishes have never been used, they sit displayed in a china cabinet.

    I also love Pyrex..and it's now beginning to be a bit pricy. Sometimes tho,the Pyrex genie is with me and I find some great bargins. I will also keep a lookout for this pattern..tho I've never seen it before now. It's really,really pretty and I hope you can find more. Happy VTT...

    Oooh, I've never seen the creamer and sugar in "real life". Lucky you!

    I have plates and such for four settings that someone put in the dishwasher, aaaagh. We're still enjoying them though!
