Here I was late December, early January, bloated, feeling disgusted with myself and scared of getting high blood pressure and diabetes...
Let's face it; I was back at the same weight I was in 2009 after gaining 30 pounds. I had lost my job the year before and was letting loose with my emotionnal eating.
I managed to loose the weight with a lot of veggies and protein shakes and soups....But I was feeling so dry inside.
I keep most of the weight off for 1 year and then it started to creep back up.
I did the plan this spring but for some reason, I found it teadious, I didn't like most of the recipes...
and SURPRISE! More weightht back!
I did enjoy my seasonnal faves a lot! BRING ON THE COOKIES!!!
But I was due for a reality check.
On Jan 2nd 2014 I was watching Dr. Oz and there was a feature on a 2 weeks weight loss regimen to kick start things.
Here's the link Dr Oz rapid 2 weeks weight loss . The bad side: You probably won't loose as fast as the ladies on the show...one had lost 17 pounds in 2 weeks.
Good side: I am never hungry! Really!
And I discovered that I might be gluten intolerant. Now I followed the 2 weeks plan scrupulosly, but since then I allow some other things; like I tried a piece of french bread and I flt sick all night.
And I usually eat less protein at night.
So after a month I lost 8 pounds which I find fantastic!
And I am NOT hungry!!!
Well time to pack my super nice lunch :)

Losing It
This post has long been overdue.
I struggle with my weight. Yep! I said it, it is out there.
I am an emotionnal eater and looking back so was my grandma and even my Dad.
Did the Weight Watchers thingy 3 or 4 times and even if it gets better with time...I still have nightmares about green pepper cooked with PAM....eww!
I don't like going to meetings and I feel I never got the support I was looking for. The animator was awful; a skinny guy with 70's 3 piece suits whose worst food sin was vegetable soup....Really?
Did the protein shaky shake thing, lost 30 pounds and the weight started pilling back on as soon as I got off...Rats!
I bottomed out last year at Easter in Lake Placid, I had gained most of the weight back on and was freaking out about gaining more.
So Dr. Oz to the rescue! Not one of the un-tested food supplement he peddles everyday...Actually it was one of his guest who talked about this.
It is called Lose It! Available as an App or as a web site RIGHT HERE . It is easy to use FREE and believe it or not just inputing all the food I consume daily makes me lose weight!
Crazy!
Here's a pic of today's lunch

The Journey
This will be a short post because I have the early shift at the postal counter....I just returned from a visit to one of my fave blog Crazy Suburban Mom. Tracy has been on a weight loss journey and is sharing some of it today.
As you know I have been also, since January 18 2010. Right now I'm on the GI diet and I love the food. It's a lot of work, I feel great but the weight is stagnant...just staying there! At least I'm not gaining. I might need to read it again and take a different approach!
So in the spirit of friendship I too will share a pic. I've been afraid of the camera for quite some time now and in the past year I didn't even want a head shot....

So here I am at the Puzzle Mountain Bakery on rte 22 the weekend I went to the shore. I know it's not a head to toe shot...but I wanted the folks to see the pies....
I actually asked Dan to take my pic! The poor thing nearly fainted! We didn't buy a pie, but to celebrate the pie shack as I call it ,we bought some maple creams...OMG so rich,so sweet....so GOOD! A sandwhich cookie with some maple icing in the middle! OY!
Ok that's it for today, gotta get reading to peddle stamps! LOL
