Retro Tuesday: Retro Surprise!

The mailman brought me a small box yesterday...I have a new mailman and he always looks at me like I'm up to no good....like I torture kittens in the basement! Weird mailman...
The shipping was so fast! I could not believe it!
It was a gift from Tracy at www.crazysuburbanmom.com! Yes she's crazy! Crazy nice that is!
I got this adorable vintage tackylicious apron and a key fob (handmade by CSM herself!). How nice is that?
My guess is that the apron is fron the 60's. It comes with a detachable towel! So practical!
Tracy used some of her vintage buttons for the key fob. The vintage key is super cute! I love the color combo that is SO me! Bright green and turquoise buttons! Good enough to eat!
Here's a detail of the pattern. How charming! The girls look so sweet, and that poodle!
Thank you! You made my day and possibly my week! You are very sweet.
Now if you want to experience Tracy's unbeatable sense of humor first hand...Hurry to www.crazysuburbanmom.com for more Retro Tuesday!

It's a Xmas miracle!!!

This past summer I won a Poffertjes package from Kim at The misadventures of Mub blog. I know that overseas mail takes a long time, but in this case I never got the package and some person somewhere, is stuffing their faces with my Poffertjes (small puffy pancakes)!!!
Well Kim was nice enough to send me another package that was waiting for me when I got home. Look at all the goodies the box contained! A poffertje pan (ok I can spell the word, but for the love of god I can't say it !!!), a box of poffer thingie mix and a squirt bottle specialy designed to pour the batter in the pan. Also a chocolate initial (I'm a sucker for european chocolate) and a totally amazing hand made full apron! To tell you the truth I have never seen an apron such as this...Total coverage! I could wear a party gown and still be able to cook with that apron.
And look at that cute pattern! Totally retro!
Thank you Kim! This was really worth the wait! By the way the initial is goooood! And I 'll keep you posted on the poffertje making!

Aprons!

Ok,ok,ok don't get me started about American Idol and Kris Allen!

Actually I was sooooo sure about the outcome that I didn't watch it. I tuned in just when Ryan was announcing the winner. Apparently I missed a really crappy coronation song co-written by Kara DioGuardi. The only thing I can say is: You voted for him, you have to buy his record, he is YOUR idol now!

On a more pleasant front...2 weeks ago I scored some really cute aprons at a church thrift shop. In between running the house, preparing the garden and the garage sale I just had time last night to iron them, so here they are!
First pic a pink and white cutie, so fresh and springlike! Super nice condition!
Second pic: this one doesn't have pockets but is really 'crisp' with 3 beautiful red apples and a green and white checkered background.

3rd pic: I love this one! it is NEW, vintage but new! Still in the wrapper! Unbelivable! Some used the mitts and they are long gone, but the apron is pristine (see 4th pic).
Last but not least: A 70's apron, no pocket but a black button to hold a dishcloth or a mitt. I love those flowers!
As time goes by I find myself more and more attracted to vintage fabric...A genetic trait I've heard, from my father's! LOL
Tomorrow I'll try to write a post about church basement wednesday ('coz I found cool stuff!)

OMG the garage sale is saturday! I'm so excited, I hope a lot of people will come (and find our stuff cool! Not crappy...like greasy tupperware crappy! LOL) I also hope to get rid of a lot of stuff,so we don't have to haul everything to Salvation!
TTFN!
