Decorating with Pyrex

Friday morning in the commuter train, while meditating....I thought about this....

This poor succulent was way too big for this little planter and was in jeopardy....

I needed to change its pot pronto!

But what could I use?
Believe it or not, I had a vision....

Using this....

This little guy was hanging out unloved in my garden shed....I'm not a big fan of the brown Pyrex.
But I needed  a planter and it was ready and willing!

Don't they look great together?

I could almost hear the plant giggling!

Have a great week!

Yippee!

OMGOMGOMGOMG! I'm sooooo excited, I'm almost besides myself!

But first a big Vonlipi's welcome to my new followers and especially to Zuitsuitmama| It's always nice when you've been following and enjoying a blog and they become followers too :)

So tomorrow we wake up bright and early and head south to Maine, I can't wait to discover what wonders it holds for us this time. For the time being, here's some pics that I took in October but never shared.

I'm totally glass addicted so of course I would take pics of tons of mugs!

A shelf full of FireKing! WOW
Nesting bowls, my faves!

Casseroles....Autumn Harvest, Town & Country,Acorn, Spring Blossom Green.

OOOOh! More bowls! And Jadeite too!

Ok I kinda regret leaving this one...A Pink Desert Dawn pie plate. I left it because I already have 3 pie plates....But I'd never seen Desert Dawn in the flesh! Oh well! Better luck next time!

I can't wait to go to my fave Maine fleas

Who knew?

Who knew these bowls were part of the same set? Well, certainly not me!!!
I know my Pyrex well, but I had never seen this variation in cinderella bowls. Usually you have either alternately printed and plain bowls or the smallest one is white with the colored patterned, then the size up is the opposite colored background with white pattern and so on.
When I picked up this box full of bowls at my Dad's place I was sure it was all missmatched. I already had the bigger one and I was looking for something to do with the rest....
But the orange one kept bugging me, even during the night (Yes I dream of Pyrex....)

So I looked in the reference books and nothing (the books are great but totally incomplete). Thank god for the Pyrex Love web site! I found a picture of the same set. I was so glad I had that mystery solved!
This is the Town and Country pattern issued in 1963.
Lovely isn't? I certainly think so!
