There are a few elderly ladies around here that do that. Since they are no longer able to tend to a flower bed very well, they fill them with the artificial stuff.
Hmmmm, I may start doing that myself. No weeds, lol! Some people up the street have fake grass, it really looks odd in the middle of winter or at the height of the summer heat when there is a watering ban, and their grass looks super green and everybody else's is yellow. But hey, no maintenance!
I too thought this was horrid, until one day while looking at me flamingos, I thought, Why NOT? I filled in some spaces with the fake ones and tacky was the look I wanted anyway wasn't it? LOL!!

You've got to be kidding! At least it's clean and neat....but soooo fake!
I used to think this was HORRIBLE!
But now with the years gone by, I find it at least looks neat.
What struc me was the blast of color since it was almost freezing that day.
