To tell the truth I had no idea how to title this post.
The jist of it is that on the looooonnnnnggggg Easter weekend we don't have a lot of people over, we renovate!!!
This year's project was to replace the walk-in closet's old carpet and to clean it out!
Mission accomplished! We brought 4 large garbage bags to the church basement, removed the carpet, installed vinyl flooring, painted the molding, reinstalled said molding and cleaned the house.
Being Easter Dan had to open his big ol' mouth and invite his daughter for Easter supper....
So I kept it simple
Olives and lupimis in sidedish Pyrex restaurant ware (of course)
I took this appetizer idea from the Rachael Ray show where they would stuff
mini bell peppers with refried beans. So I made a batch of hummus, stuffed it
in a zipper bag and used it to pipe the hummus in the veggies.
Some of it looks like diarrea! Really! we laughed so much! But it was served in a Red Kettle serving Pyrex plate so that makes it alllllll better!!!
I made a beautiful bone-in ham but did nor think of taking pictures.
As for the dessert.....I decided to make a lemon meringue pie from a mix, because
that is the tradition. For some reason, I didn't get enough meringue and my oven turned it greyish instead of browned, but it tasted beautiful!
Thank God for Easter miracles!
Be well my thrifty friends!

LAST GIVEAWAY TEASER AND IT'S A GOOD ONE!
What a week! A bit of advice of ALL employers in Canada: Give your employees more than one week of vacation the first year please!!!!!
Even if I go t bed early I'm still tired! I was on vacation on August 29th last year....and my body is feeling it. I only got a week because I became permanent in January 2012.
Next year I get 3 weeks paid vacation, yay!
This year will be a staycation because we need to TCB (take care of business) all outside around the house because we have the big dig in September. Our ciment block foundation is leaking so we hired a company to dig out the foundation ,install 2 membranes, a french drain.....
I need to move some perrenials....
Now for the giveaway....

Platters
I did find forgotten Pyrex treasures this weekend....But I haven't taken their pictures yet.
Today is very cool, windy and grey. After a morning of wrestling winter linen, the vacuum and space age bags, I am pooped!
Here are the pictures I took last night...

Pyrex 794 platters.
3 Bradford House and one BlueGrass. These are restaurant ware.
I uses these all the time, I find them the perfect size for a sandwich or a dessert.
Also RW
These are shallow bowls that I use for salads or soups like pasta fajole or
pasta cecci. Here a Bluegrass and a Fern green.
Korean style beef ribs served in a Laurel RW 793
Pyrex platter.
Delicious and pretty!
I do have platters but they are stored at the moment if you get my drift!
