Sad morning

Today I received a package I had been looking forward to for a couple of weeks...To tell the truth I'd been eyeing this Pyrex Opal 401 for quite a while now...
And since Xmas was near I decided to give myself a little Pyrex bowl. It didn't come from eBay but from a Canadian eStore.
So the mailman made me sign for the box and off I went to open this box full of Pyrex goodness...
I had ordered a Terra cup as well ( I had been fantasizing about a cactus in one of those) I'll post a pic soon. And then I see my sweet little opal bowl all wrapped in Saran Wrap....It looks like there are cracks in the bowl...Could it be??? Oh NO! I opened the plastic wrap and the bowl all came apart....RATS!!!
So I took a picture and wrote to the eStore. I don't know what will happen, I didn't receive an answer yet.
So I watched some True Blood and made a batch of caramel corn!
I have to go I still need to shovel some new snow!!!
BROKEN PYREX UPDATE! The store wrote back and they refunded my full payment! WOW! Fast and professionnal! I'm impressed

Good result, pity about the bowl though. The same day I took photos for my festive finds post I had seasonal veg prepared in my red snowflake pyrex, when I was sweeping knocked it off the counter with the pole of the brush, it shattered into a thousand pieces, I'm shattered!

So sad about the Pyrex but at least you got your refund. Still it's hard to see a wonderful piece broken due to bad packing? (I'm guessing?). Hopefully you can find another piece to treat yourself for Christmas.

I'm sorry for you V. I once ordered a teapot from the UK and due to the packaging in came in pieces. Such a disappointment. It's especially sad (no matter the value) when it's an old and/or collectible item that cannot be replaced. Have heart. Something better will come. On the bright side, it could have been worse. It could have been DELPHITE!

Thrited: NOT THE RED PYREX??? Oh my god, I feel for you! It was so beautiful and I had never seen one.

Linda: I'm not worried, I will find some great Pyrex soon! can feel it, I'm going to thrift in Ontario next week....

Maureen: I know, thank god it was not Delphite! I saw a delphite covered casserole on ebay for more than 200$. That is too much!

Thanks for stopping by everybody!

So very, very sad.

Aw shucks, you'll just have to go thrifting instead!

Can't wait to see your cactus.

I hope it all works out with the store. Good luck thrifting!

Very sad but I'm glad the store was professional and refunded your money. Hopefully you'll find another one soon.

I'm torn about the opal white Pyrex. The whole point of the vintage Pyrex for me is the fun colors designs! I had other plain bowls that I got rid of, why would I get plain white Pyrex? lol!

I have an opal 502 and I've been debating whether I should keep it or not. I know it's valuable and something about it IS kinda cool - so clean and noiseless - like the morning after a huge snowstorm, right? :-)
