In the eye

I am talking about the eye of the beholder of course.

I am one of those bloggers who don't really feel it is important to show pictures of themselves. I feel it is irrelevant and I think I don't photograph very well.

Last weekend we went to a flea in Morrisburg, Ontario...the sun was shining and I had to wear a hat.

Dan insisted we stop for pictures and since has been hounding me to post the pictures in my blog or at least one.

So here goes

That is for you sweetie, you fill my life with sunshine and laughter!

Take care friends and fellow bloggers, sleep tight

Guess What? It's TCB Time!!!

After a slow start this weekend...we were supposed to get tapping and painting Saturday morning but we woke up tired and the rain did not help feeling productive....

Saturday we read, watched TV and snacked...and napped. I am glad we did not feel guilty AT ALL!

This morning however, we woke up relatively refreshed and focused on the task ahead.

Many months ago Dan decide we would paint the stair rails. The banister would be blackish, the spindles off white-ish and I don't really remember about the steps...

So he proceeded to use the primer we had in the basement... the pink primer. EW!

                                         You see the pink right?

I don't know if I ever shared this secret bookself with you
It is hidden in the staircase and it holds my Stephen King books.

As you can see Dan is hard at work with the painting.

So I went outside to paint the iron brackets that are holding
the little roof of the kitchen.
To tell you the truth, it was 60 minutes of tapping and 20                      minutes                                        of painting
Since I need to let it dry at least overnight
I am glad the tapping is done so the second coat will be a snap!
At the same time I will give a couple of coats to the rails outside.

So what is done is done and it was easy lazy TCB. Needed to be done but with minimun effort!

Dan started to paint the trim around our dream board as well but we found out it is plastic and not wood so it doesn't behave as expected.

So what have you been up to? Did you  work on something that had to be done? Did you create something? Let me know!

See you soon :)

Seen Around

Today's edition of Seen Around will definitely shock some readers and raise some highbrows!

The first pictures were taken at Ogilvy's one of Montreal's fancy pants departement store...They were selling the $145 panettone for Xmas last year....

First ordinary hair clips, sparkly but it is a hair clip, right?

Yes you saw that right, $207 !!! $207 for a hair clip....For $207, I would buy a LOT of groceries,
make a car payment, buy 20 $10 long sleeve t-shirts, Xmas shop....But I will not buy a hair clip!

One could also get small hair clips....

A steal at $27!!!

Now for the second batch of pictures... Lay's Canada have a yearly contest, where folks can dream up
chip flavors, we can try them , vote for them and the winner gets a piece of the profits of that flavor.

Brace yourselves, here are this year's offerings

                                          Jalapeno Mac'n'cheese

                                          Cinnamon Bun (????)

                                          Tzatziki

                                          Bacon poutine

Now I have no idea why someone would dream up cinnamon bun flavored chips....But if I find a small bag I'd be willing to try all 4. I bet Tzatziki is my fave!

Last year I tried Bacon Perogies and it was soooo salty, my hands looked like bouquets of sausages!

I can already see my Dad's face as he rolls his eyes...He always finds my love of strange flavors , well strange!

So good night and I don't want to hear that someone bought one of those hair clips! LOL

Off Balance

Finding a title for this post was hard. Today was hard.

Everyone I know was in shock over Robin Williams passing. He made me laugh, he made me cry. He leaves a big hole in the cosmic energy.

I am sorry the treatment he was seeking and probably received was not enough to keep him alive.

I know mental illness and depression, many close ones suffer from either or both. His passing made me feel off balance and sad.

It is never easy. It's not easy for the person that suffers from it and can be a roller coaster ride for the loved ones.

But so far we are lucky and we lived through it, most of us....When someone doesn't want to get better, well there's nothing you can do. Except pray.

So be well and sleep tight

ARE YOU KIDDING???

Ok this is August 5th, it is hot and humid in the Montre
al region...

Now I work in an office tower, it is depressing and dirty....we have partitions from the 80s and frankly they vacuum once a year....

So I try to go out everyday and walk...sometimes I shop but mostly just walk and look and sometimes freak out!

Yesterday I was shocked by these...

Halloween candy! Really??? When was it made? January?
It makes me panic just to see it. I made a comment about it to the cashier and she said it was for the lunch boxes....REALLY???
On these words...I 'll take a bag of Kit Kats....

And I also saw this that made me sweat bullets....

Fleece lined leather gloves!!! WTF?
(I'l take a fuschia pair please)

Wool scarves and hats with ears!

Now I'm really hot and sweaty!

I'll now go sit by the AC!!!

Remember This?

Do you remember my puny veggie patch?

I believe i planted or sowed it on July 2nd.

So this how it loows today.

It is guarged by the friendly gargoyle...

I have never had such beautiful basil! So excited!

And of course I used the basil in my favorited summer time lunch....Basil,tomatoes,boconccini
So fresh!
I also took the opportunity to cut some flowers for a seasonnal bouquet. It is one on my fave
summer past time.
Echinecea and Queen Ann Lace... so summery. And I like to use unlikely vases like this enamel box.
I put a big glass in it for the flowers to protect it from rust.

So I  wish you a very enjoyable weekend my faithful readers, be weel and keep on thrifting!!!
