Kitty in a basket

I just could not, not post this because in my eyes it is one of the most adorable things of 2013.

In my house of course!

Feast your eyes on this!

                My little princess Yoda!

Here Dan is trying to get her attention.
She's the real ruler of the clodder since Pinotte flew to heaven
                                             back in October.
The guys need to walk straight!

Be well, sleep tight! I can't believe I have to work tomorrow :(

Oh well  ! It is what it is!

You just never know

Saturday was the most amazing day!

We got up early and finished the Xmas lights outside, in minus 20 Celsius, this is quite an achievement....

Then we brought the Xmas tree from the basement, and installed it (still not finished but working on it).

Later that day we had a line dancing party and on our way, it was still quite early, we spotted a thrift shop (squeals of joy)

I found this cutie pie...

I had never seen one like this before. I plan to group
Santa blowmolds in a gaggle or clodder.
Now what do you call a group of Santas???

At the party I won this HUGE fruit basket!

I gave some to a friend but I am still struggling with finding uses for all this fruit!

There will be cinamon apples and pear compote! NICE

Have a great night and stay warm!!!

WTF? Tuesday! Old Crusty Jam

This is a good one. I took the pictures in the Gannanoque Flea market in Gannanoque Ontario in June 2011. It was still there when I went back for canadian Thanksgiving. I swear it was there in December 2010 or even before....

Yes it is! An old jam, tea and soggy candies basket. Who would sell food at a flea market?

Tell me who!

By the way the wrapping is greasy and dusty.

For more strange and creepy (sometimes hair raising) fun be sure to visit

Night night my thrifty friends!

Thrifty Finds

I always say a little prayer to the Pyrex/Retro/Vintage gods when I head out on a thrifting expedition. And I've added : Please help me recognise treasures big and small. I never know what I might find...
This week I jumped on my trusty bike, that was really a bad idea because of all the snow and rain and I was sliding all over the place. It was real scary!

So this is what I found:

A folding fruit basket, a small atomic fruit salad dish and a black bracelet.

The basket is made of bamboo and it seems this kind of thing was amongst the first imported here after the second world war. The dish comes from France. It was manufactured by Faienceries Continentales and the name of the pattern is Étoiles (stars). I'm guessing this was made in the 50's.
The bracelet looks like plastic but it's not. It stragely ressembles a bracelet my mother had that was from the 50's. I didn't look for it yet. If I find it it will make a nice set and I'm sure my Dad will be able to tell me about the material it's made of.

Here's a close up of the delicious dish!
 . How cute is that?

Have a great day and keep on thrifting! :)
