Stress

Deciding and trying to sell your house is very stressful.

Some days I don't know if I am coming or going....I fall asleep the minute my head touches the pillow!

Last weekend was the worst we had 3 visits on Saturday and 3 offers to buy. I find having strangers i my house very weird....We are now in limbo following the inspection....

But really folks what do people expect when they consider buying a 70 years old renovated cabin???

It seems they are a lot of things that are not up to code.....But on our end everything works fine....

And I am always surprised when people tell me they like my furniture!

I will miss my house but not my town , I am looking forward to walking a lot everyday, here you need your car for most everywhere and no sidewalks....and people drive very fast, way above the limit.

I will miss the night music courtesy of frogs and bugs that dwell nearby and I will try to record it.

I am looking forward to spend more time with my Dad and be there if he needs us. I am also looking forward to shop at mom and pop stores for groceries....Oh and the ethnic grocers! Oh joy!!!

But before all that the house has to be sold...in the meantime we are fixing it so we enjoy the warm season (here Spring lasted about 3 days)  and it is now about 86 F....So we installed the AC today and are getting nearer to start the pool....I am crossing my fingers for tomorrow!

This is something I will definitely miss!

                                Sometimes it is illegal to pick them, but I figured I was saving part of the natural
                                heritage of Ile Perrot.
                                 Both sides of the highway are covered with trilliums this time of year. It is one of my
                                   favorite springtime flower and I have great memories of going to Mont Royal (Montreal) with my Dad to pick some when I was a kid (1970's)

WARNING!

WARNING this post is picture heavy!

Yesterday we were out the door at 8:30 am full of caffeine, wondering what the day had in store for us...

First stop is about 5 minutes from my house and we buy stuff there every year. We scored 2 vintage folding lawn chairs. The fram is in excellent condition but I might have to redo the seat.

I know you can buy the stuff on line so this will be a fun adventure!

Next I got 2 brand new never used Pyrex baking dishes with the plastic covers

I got the 4 milkglass tumblers at a church sale.

We got 3 archies, a cutter and a shovel (not pictured) for 6$.

I also got a lime green bamboo mat 2 ft X 3ft for one dollar (new still in the bag)

Now this is where it gets interesting!

 We drove and drove and a lot of neighborhood didn,t even have a table out so we decided to go back home....

And we see a lonely pink sign...

And then I FREAK OUT!

This couple had about 8 tables FULL OF BARWARE, GLASSWARE, PYREX AND FIREKING!

You should've seen this girl running around trying to take everything in!

Man oh man so much excitement!

We made a run spent 14$ and went back home.

After 10 minutes at home we looked at each other and got back in the car and went back!

The couple was laughing ans so were we.

We spent another 16$. Their prices were crazy low. Turns out they had bought lots at auctions and now the husband wanted his garage back!

I actually thanked him for wanting his garage back!

Dan fell hard for these Indiana glass Black Diamond Point glasses.

A cute jar from Avon and a delphite lid.

Now the guy was sorry he only had the lid, I said what a coincidence! I have the bottom!

Well folks that's it for today because I still need to take more pictures from the stuff we bought.

And I gotta get ready I have a christening this afternoon!

The tree, the tree we got the tree!!!

It has been a dream of mine for quite a while now...To go to a farm and choose my tree ( I don't say a tree farm because where I got it they grow so much more than trees....strawberries, corn, blueberries, pumpkins, asparagus, apples....). I wanted to go local because it is so important to me, because if you don't buy local then the local farmers will sell out and some developper will build condos again...do we need more condos??? I don't think so!!!

So yesterday we drive buy and there's nobody, so I call and leave a message and Elwood Quinn the farm's owner call us back this morning telling us he'll be in today. So we go this afternoon and I am aware that you can pick your tree only on weekends and I ask Elwood how it works and that I wished I could go and choose my tree and next thing I know we are following him (us in the car, him in his van) we stop in a big field and I look at the trees (but I love trees that haven't been pruned-with lots of space between the branches). Elwood says" just hop in the van I will take you to another field where trees haven't been pruned at all". He is quite a character full of stories and tales and I take advantage of it and ask him tons'o'questions, about the U pick and the fields and the asparagus.

Then I see it: the tree I remember from my childhood ! Only smaller coz I have a small living room. The farmer asked us if it was ok to cut it a bit shorter because the tree will 'regrow' in a couple of years...Of course I said yes! I hope to go back next year and see where my tree came from....Back at the barn Elwood offered us some warm cider (just like in the movies...) and told us a couple of tales from his ancestors.
