A nice month

I know that August has just begun...but I am feeling good.

feeling good in my new space, feeling good in my head...I finally feel like I belong.

I don't need a huge space, I don't need a trendy neighborhood....Turns out I needed a smallish duplex, in a quiet neighborhood and a wooden fence.

When we bought the house, there was no fence in the back and I felt uncomfortable sitting outside like an over easy egg...

but it all changed with this...

How can part of a fence make so much difference?
I don't know and it is between my 2 ears for sure!
But it makes a world of difference!
We have been hanging out in the yard nearly every day!

I can hear my babbling mini Niagara (really loud)

And tend to my mostly herb garden.

Today I felt so good and inspired by all the local produce that I am making a lasagna with lotsa vegs
inside....for the freezer and probably a Mexican lasagna for the freezer as well.
I have strong squirrel genes and I like to make reserves....

in case you are wondering...we are still not totally unpacked and that is quite
alright alright alright...

I will explain in the next post!

Be well and stay thrifty

October???

last 2 weeks f August flew by....and so did September.

The temps are cooler, praise the Lord!

All I did this summer was sweat....I swear!

This is my kitchen wall, the only one without cabinets.
My Dad had knife magnets installed, more than 20 years ago.
For some reason, I always have been skittish about using theThis m....
but after 3 years, I guess i am used to them...

This mug made me crack up...
I wish I pooped glitter!

One of the last things I sold ....it makes room in the yard and fattened a bit the vacate fund.

Bob Ross has a game named after him!
Who knew the guy was such an icon???

On my way back to work from a doctor's appointment
I snapped this beautiful and intriguing fountain.
that sight really made my day!

Cleaning the carport, I opened a box and spotted these Pyrex treasures....
I am not ashamed to proclaim that I brought them back inside!
They appeared at my one and only garage sale in 2016.....
                                 They did not sell.....

So far the water feature is closed, the front steps have been repainted and I removed the weeds from the front of the house....

Next weekend it is Canadian Thanksgiving...and we plan to close both fountains and plant the perennials I purchased. And slowly closing the flower borders for the winter.

Maybe we feast and give thanks with oysters...or a roast...I have no idea yet

Stay safe, warm and happy my faithful readers

See you soon!

Lots of DIRT

Monday morning bright and early (while I was at work THANK GOD) the crew came with the tractor and the tools and dug up the foundation.

I took pictures of before....

Ricky patio and past due gazebo
(notice the big top stripes on the fabric...10 years ago it seemed fine)

We loved that place, spent a lot of evenings hanging out and chatting there.
but it was time to move one.
the patio was rotted and the fabric fried.

We spent the whole weekend dismantling it.
It was like a giant puzzle.
I'm glad we have tools, lotsa tools.
By the end of Sunday afternoon, it was in pieces by the side of the road.

They took the patio on Friday.

I found a lot of stuff in the dirt. Old cans, margarine containers?, ice cream containers??? and
this

A glass Coke bottle
I'm guessing it's from the 70's or early 80's.

All gone!

I can't look throught the patio door because it makes me queasy!
The trench is about 7 feet deep.

Bye bye blackberries!
To tell you the truth I'm glad they are gone. They are messy and take way too
much room.
If I ever get a bigger yard, I'll get some more.

On another note....I started yoga classes today and I'm really tired and achy all over.
lol the classes are a B-Day gift from Dan
That is so nice! The gift of relaxation.

I had a major thrift haul last week too but that is for another post!
