So my umbrella stand was very tired... Granted it's an antique circa 1890 in cast iron, it was all pale green and chippy and someone had written numbers on it with a marker. My dad bought it at an antique shop many, many years ago.
So I called him up and asked if I could paint it...And he said yes being the amazing dad that he is!
I know, I know some purist would want to kick my butt for painting this but I figured that I wouldn't want to use it all green and rusty and chippy and it would look fab in satin black!
BEFORE
AFTER
I can't wait to put umbrellas in it!
Have a great week everyone! :)

I can picture that umbrella stand in it's glory days of the past & now it's all fabbed up for round 2! Looks great!
What a great change Vonlip! I have a pryex question for you iv found a mixed matched set of the the fridge dishes the yellow, blue, and tiny red for $42 at a flea market. Is this a good price for the set? If so I can go back when the flea markets open next month and get it... what do you think?!
I really like it black and if that is how you like it then that is important. You do have a Great Dad!!
Very nice! I love the new look!
Vonlipi, I'm usually one of those people that hates painting over old stuff, but that result is great!
Mick is the set mint? Do you have 2 small red dishes? Do you have all the lids?
I've seen those sets from 50$ to 100$; 200$ with the box. I feel it's a fair price for a complete set.
So if you go back and it's still there ask yourself if you find it too expensive. I've spent WAY too much money on some Pyrex and regretted it after.I wouldn't want you to regret it.
Hope that helps!
Thanks 6 ballons! Thanks everyone, I love hearing from you :)
