Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is such a magical day for me....

It is the expectation, the waiting, the magic.....

December flew by...with us running every where, adulating a lot more than we like to....

Decisions, decisions.....and ...wait! More decisions!

We started packing today because we can start moving things on January 6th.....and that is just around the corner.....

YIKES! there will be a lot of storage place in the new house, such as a dedicated towels and sheets closet....and a laundry room....oh my with cabinets for the soap etc....

so 3 crates of summer sheets and comforters and 2 boxes of Pixies, 501s and butter dishes (Pyrex of course).

 The Clear 501 and 502 were a gift to my Dad and I decided to keep them

and get the butterfish.

So for now no more packing....just enjoying the family , the cats

and the food......

New finds

So February in Canada means a visit to the financial adviser or contributing to your RRSP

if you have one.

I don't really like parting from my hard earned cash but in the long haul but

I will get a tax reduction...

Near the financial adviser's office there is a Value Village!

Of course I had to stop!

Scored these vintage new Horizons Blue Pyrex Fridgies for

a big ol' $3.97 canadian! woot

Now I am on the hunt for the Horizons Blue 503....

Saturday after the periodical hair makeover...

On the way home, there is a thrift and I can never seem to remember the name...It is really called Hope crossroads or crossroads of hope; of course I'm translating loosely.

Of course I'm always full of hope...Well you never know...

Farm Fresh

I remembered not long ago that the neighborhood farm had a stand that sold fresh produce. So today that was the goal of my morning walk

I was surprised to see that they had so much veggies from their own land...My own are quite late,lol

I got new potatoes,yellow beans and lebanese cukes just picked from the green house. And I was in that green house, you can't get fresher than that and oh so local.

As an added bonus all their leftover plants are 25% off, so I got a beautiful burgundy echinacea. To make my walk even more fun I discovered a shortcut so the farm is even closer than I thought (10 min max by foot).

When I decided to blog about local goodness, Pyrex came to mind to showcase all that beautiful just picked freshness....So that is pic numero uno. As for the second pic...well I find that I'm strangely attracted to furniture on the side of the road..I can't bring it home, Dan would freak out about the space and is always trying to get rid of furniture....So that's why I took a pic!

Don,t you think it's a beautiful piece of furniture? Doesn't it deserve a home???

Bestest day!

I swear it was the bestest day! We had lunch with my Dad at L'Express bistro ( a reference for french food in Montreal)

And we went and got my very early B-Day gift ( a computer!), OMG I'm so excited!!! It needs to be programmed, but I'll have it soon enough....I can't wait to post the gazillion pictures I took!!!

That is definitely the part I miss the most. Uploading pictures in Flickr, it is one of my artistic outlets.

We then took a nice leisurely card ride back to my Dad's and I gave him his gifts ( An italian cook book that he had been looking for 4ever, a clear 502 pyrex refrigerator dish and a 1927 Fry juicer). I also got a boatload of new Pyrex (new to me that is!!!) all that I didn't have! Goody,goody I'm like a kid in a candy store! I'm soooo spoiled! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

To go home we took the old roads near the river and stopped at a DQ for a little cone and came home at 6 PM. I had to fiddle with the pool ( no pool boy around here, just a pool girl!) Got soaked...eeeewwwww and I'm happy to report that the water is a pale khaki tonite...LOL

And the stench disappeared ! Now it's the chlorine channel...all chlorine, all the time!!!

I got the carafe in the pic last year at the Salvation Army, It's now in a box somewhere and I need to find it coz' I'm itching for some iced tea...
